Why would you have a system that advocates dealing with a punch one way and a knife the other (I'm assuming they're not pocketing the body when being stabbed) when we all know that knives are almost never seen in a fight?  In other words we should be treating every punch as if it contains a knife.

Now you’re speaking my language.

My assertion is that you cannot have a separate defense for unarmed attacks and knife attacks, when I see someone who trains this way I feel they have not researched or tested their material in a realistic manor.

Looks like this Richard Grannon guy is taking a ton of heat, admitting to and eating a lot of crow in the UK for false advertising, especially with Bob Spour.

The "pocketing" the body against a straight punch to the stomach is something I learned in Taiwan in 1962. It is part of tai chi and hsing-i. It works really well if you are standing there and know that the guy is going to punch you in the stomach, and you see it coming. I've never made it work in sparring. It's fun to play with, but if you know that someone is going to punch you in the stomach and you see it coming, isn't there a lot better things to do?

Never understood the fascination that some people have with being able to stand and withstand blows...

Seems a little like spending more money on armour than arms to me, not the best mindset for battle!

Best form of cover is always going to be a bullet in my opinion, and spending years perfecting the ability to take a prepared strike is nowhere near as important as spending a fraction of that time perfecting the ability to deliver a spontaneous strike - that negates the need for the former!

It is a trick.(as already said)
They hollow out and or roll, great when you know the type of attack and the area to be struck.

Do like Vladimir:
Use a Kick to drive his knee back or to the side and  when his head drops forward ,drive an elbow or a hook punch into the side of his head. (see if they slip multiple simultaneously delivered strikes and go at real speed and not slow speed as they do in demos)

Like the art of Combat  Ki:
They use breath control to tighten the muscles of the body being struck.
Works great, except that it is hard to strike back when you are exhaling in preparation for an incoming strike.

LOL.
