I think it was GB Shaw who commented that the USA and UK are "two peoples separated only by a common language".  I recall the absolute horror on the face of the lady on the Help Desk at a convention I attended in LA.  I asked her "Where can I go for a Fag, love?"  I only wanted a smoke! I quit smoking shortly after that but the LAPD cavity search policy had nothing to do with it, I swear!  Cheers, Recap!

In Visaysan patay means dead (adjective or noun). Can also mean deceased, defunct, kill (pumatay) slaughter or casualty.  I checked Tagalog and Hiligaynon (Illongo) via the Dusky Dictionary and she agreed.

Destroy is da-ut, destroyed (broken or no longer working) is guba.  You can also use sirain, pagdugmok and pagguba.

In Tagalog you use sirain, lumpagon, wasakin or gibain. Sige na!  Perry.
