In Gun 1 we break all that down with demos

It depends on the sims weapon.

Rubber band gun? No, just a simple, cheap tool to see some objects fly form a barrel and see you could be hit or you could hit.
Battery powered airsoft? No pain, but...there can be welts (see Gun 1 and Gun 9).
Spring-cocked pistold. Yes. Hurts. The spring is powerful.
Gas Guns. Hurt
Paint Ball. Hurt
Simunitions? Really, REALLY hurt. In fact, I would have to place them up in that stick strike category for fear and pain.
Real bullets? Priceless...
