I was wondering what your top 5 empty hand vs knife tactics for Law Enforcement would be?
I have been giving more time in our academy to teach edged weapon defense and I'm looking for others imput.

I don't know if there are specific "techniques" as much as a concept or progression that is required to survive.

1. capture weapon bearing limb
2. get behind the knife...the business end is hot and will hurt you
3. fight like Hell until either he drops the weapon or you drop him
4. disarm weapon from unconcious or dead adversary

Well, that norrows it down a bit...  LOL

There are about  million and one options and it's all SITUATIONAL REACTION(S) based. With enough well guided training, the reactions will become effective and efficient.

There's no quick fix, just consistent training.    Focus on what works best for you, based on your experience and share that at your seminar(s).  LEO's and the like will see right through the BS. (you know that already)

Other than that, I can't top what Mr Hubbard posted.   8)
