Especially funny when you pull out your Glock and shoot the poor bastard who dares to have a go at you with the banana.  Student retention at its finest!

That show was taped in the good old days where honest citizens could own handguns and go to ranges and shoot- you know, back when Uncle Nicky had hair; he'll tell you.  Now it's just the plethora of Eastern Europeans, Turks, Jamaicans, Russians...shall I go on?

It's one big politically correct goat fuck!  Just ask any cop in London and you'll see them wince about the current situation over here.

Joe

PS  Just yesterday one of the cops at the Embassy told me that one of the female officers on the armed team has continually failed her firearms ticket because she insists that it is her right as a woman to have long finger nails.  Consequently, she can't rack the slide of her gun back and as a result failed the course.  She of course is told that it is her right to complain, which she in turn does.  Ironically, the powers to be end up passing her because they feel she has been victimized.  At this moment she stands guard with a gun that she has no skill with and if the shit hit the fan she wouldn't be able to use it effectively.  ???

Joe,

Mate, all you can hope for is you survive any incident she screws up in, at which point you sue the organization for allowing her to work with a gun she can't operate.

Nick

PS:  Yep, I did have hair and I'd toddle off to the range in Shropshire and Liverpool with mates of mine and we'd shoot.  Not no mo'.

The sad part is that if she scews up someone will die.

Luckily the Met Police are on the outside of the Embassy and the US Marines, who know how to shoot, protect the inside.

When the crap hits the fan pull you and your people inside,Lock Down the post and call  for help for those outside.

Can you initiate a suit in Britain for actions or inactions taken by local law enforcement??

We used to have an indoor range inside our barracks in London and Members of the Marine Detachment,Embassy Marines,Members of the Met armed unit and some local Special Units would come and shoot, compete for drinks in our club and we had Great Friendships and Understanding about qualifications ,control and expectations in regard to an incident near the Building/Embassy area.

I do not know if the Embassy Marines still do things like that,or if they care about the Met Perimeter, but shooting get togethers would get all on board as to what is expected of them.(including this shielded female accident waiting to happen)

The real issue is that the Met used to have high standards of policing- now they don't.  The Head of SO-16 is a woman who has never picked up a gun in her life.  When they investigate why so few women have applied for the armed units, their questions revolve around ideas like, "Can't we find lighter weapons and body armour so these women are not over tasked?"  They lower the bar in every respect and set the standards so low that it puts fellow officers at risk of their lives.  It's a total joke.

As far as Marines and DPG training together- the answer is a BIG no!  The bureaucracy is way too entrenched these days for that to exist.

Hey JimH,

Not to get into semantics brother but I did say "survive" the incident so he's around to sue. ;)

Joe/Nick/JimH=First i imagine that the PO on the street has some ideas on how to survive in the case he is pared up with a quote unquote non shooter-If I was paired up with a female PO with long nails I would wait till we had to apprehend a suspect and had to physically put them down and say to  her-You got this one (maybe the nails would break)
-Here is a quick story : My wife and i were in the Mareena Mall (Kuwait)-  I heard some noise and comming down the hall way was three of four people-The security officer was holding a suspect by the neck using a piece of rope wrapped around the neck and had the suspect on his toes choking as he was brought down the hall-no interference/no ACLU/no reading him his rights/no screaming people saying it was brutality----just plain
taking him off to jail (or whereever)=try that in the USA or England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
