CLP for the troops
« on: May 20, 2008, 11:52:59 AM »

I read in a magazine where infantry soldiers in Iraq are running short on CLP and bore patches- they would appreciate if those supplies were sent. Where do you buy CLP in the civilian world? Are they authorized to use any cleaning solvent?

I found it a little puzzling that infantry units would be short of those materials, but I want to help since my butt is cozy in my office cubical.

CLP is found in just about any sporting goods store or gunshop. Either in spray, wipes, or a regular bottle. I use it for oiling all my guns (2 pistols and a shotgun).

A few months back in the CQC Dispatches we featured a retired county sheriff that was collecting money, buying cleaning gear for weapons and getting it over to the troops. I am not at my main computer now to look this up but is was covered in an old Dispatches...
