"Good and Bad" Training
« on: July 18, 2008, 09:12:34 PM »

Actually I do own the one or other Hock DVD (Ebay makes my budget work!)
Well, I also own some JW as well as Kelly McCann/Jim Grover and other DVD's
in the self defense field. I really like the Kelly McCann/Jim Grover stuff. Like I said
before, I do like some stuff from JW, I'd say its 50/50 in good an bad!

I don't exactly take much more from Hock's stuff either. Well, it will most likely take me
a visit to seminar from Hock to get a feel for it! Like I said the job and the budget is keeping me from doing so right now!

So, for my curriculum planning, you say me, Kelly McCann, Wagner etc...
...50-50 good AND bad stuff.

So, in general, how do you define...bad stuff from us?

I'll go one better, Hock.

If you think you don't get much out of what we do, I'll invite you to come to our Big Ass West Coast CQCG Camp for free. There you will find many SFC instructors teaching; Myself, Jim McCann, Snake Blocker, and the Big Boss Man himself.

Then you tell us if you got nothing out of it.

Well, it's like I said: I take 50% from JW cause I personally think it's okay and I can use it okay, especially the different pov (here especially in how to teach very simple stuff to people who are alreday mentally challenged by getting this simple stuff - unfortunately my bosses hire lots of them  :(   )

Actually I think I take about 60-70% from Kelly McCann, somehow I like his style on the DVD's  (is only a subjectively feeling).

Like I said, I get about 50% from your stuff from the DVD's and I know that don't mean nothing 'cause live and in real life I would probably get lot more out of it. So I find 50% really good. The other 50% I am not getting yet and I hope soon to be able to go and take several seminars with you! Guess it would be 70-90% I would get then, don't know!

That'll only happen if I ever get some friggin' time off and actually get some cash and if the ol' lady and the lil ones let me go!

I'd love to take u by the offer but as I said, I can't get off work, not even to get to a damn Spanish for LEO's course. Not to mention the costs for the flight etc. etc. My wife will go nuts (All my training buget is pretty much spend on a couple shooting courses and a CQT course) and I probably end up hurt - she can be so mean  ;D

So, good/bad is actually,
   - liked/disliked, or
   - simple/not simple,
   - I can use/ I can't use
   - "like his style/don't like his style"

That kind of word thing.

No way Wagner, or Kelly's material is 50% completely BAD with BAD stuff.

In my book, I dont like viewing things as good or bad.
I view material as more effective or less effective and high probability.

sooo, apparently the one or other here has a problem understanding me (or should I say what I write here)?

shucks ..., so i can't express myself really well or clear typing on some forum. So what? maybe English ain't my native tongue? maybe I couldn't finish school?

Anyway, I can clearly see what kind of people (the kind that's full of themselves) are posting here.

Kind of makes me wonder!

Gee... wonder why? Just gve  hint! English ain't my native tongue - sorry for everybody's inconvenience!

My opinion:

a lot of people are full of envy, a lot of people fear the conference, a lot of people are honestly meaning well!

I don't doubt that Mr. Hochheim and others here mean well! I heard from Mr. Hochheim BEFORE I ever heard about JW. The reason why I went to JW was at the time it did fit better in my schedule and because he was recommended to me by two professionals I don't have any reasons to doubt.

sooner or later I hopefully have the opportunity to train with Mr. Hochheim, to figure his system out - i don't believe anybody ever will be able to learn from dvd without attending classes!

Don't you pick what works for you and what doesn't out of any system? It desn't mean it is bad or good, just it works or doesn't work for you.
I workout with guys that do stuff that works great for them that I,m not comfortable with and I do thing to them that work great for me that they are not comfortable with.
No one is going to like everything our of any system.
