What's stretching your glutes have to do with a rotater cuff injury?

I read the article but missed the medical reference to "tight glutes cause shoulder injury."  The reference to static stretching before exercise, mentioned in this article, is dated as most people (especially combat sports) are aware that dynamic stretching should precede strenuous exercise while static stretching should be done after the exercise is over.

I would take advise from further members and get Tom Kurtz's Stretching Scientifically; also check out Warrior Wellness by Scott Sonin.
