Springfield Armory XD(M)
« on: May 24, 2009, 07:42:22 AM »

Anyone have any experience with this weapon?  I've run through the XD models and the XD(M).  I'm pretty impressed,  its either this or the SIG 226.  Like the feel and with 16 rounds? I'd like to think its got an advantage as a duty weapon.  Love to hear any comments...

Love my XD 9! Great weapon! It shoots good no matter what. I have run about 600 rounds through it before, without cleaning it...no problems.

Rawhide, I'd get it!

I'd feel better if you had a SpringField Armory handgun, its a family tradition!

Thanks for the feedback, Mill!

I second that. I own XD45 5" bbl model and love it!!  It feels more balanced than a Glock to me.  Recoil is well distributed, double taps are very accurate at 10yds.  Springfield, what more can I say...the XD rides along with my M1A 308 scout rifle.

Go for it Rawhide!

How about an update on the XD(M),,,,,,,, Word on the street is the XD is as good as gold but the (M) they changed some metal parts for plastic which caused some issues. It would be great to hear from an owner, what your experience is. How many boxes of ammo have you put through yours? Will it shoot all the ammo you put into it?

Be hard to improve on the XD. I'm interested. Hope they didn't fuck it up.

I have an M1911 from Springfiled and it is a well made weapon. I fired an XD once and found it a very natural pointer.

My 1944 M1 Garand shoots very well also, solid as a rock for such an aged weapon.

On an aside, I finally bought an actual tactical shotgun (rather than the long bird barrel Remington 870 I had under the bed before). I had planned on another 870 but after handling them all I came home with a Benelli Super Nova - It pointed better with my short arms and the ghost ring sights seemed much better.  :)
