Firefly was produced by FOX, so SciFi or SyFy can't be blamed for it being canceled.  They have done a lot of other stupid things they should be blamed for though.

I just finished watching the "Farscape" DVD set.  It is similar to "Firefly" ( a group of people with different and often conflicting personalites in a ship on the run from the government and criminals) but set in a high-tech "Star Wars" type universe filled with numerous aliens.  That could be what people are thinking about when they think SciFi canceled "Firefly."

Sci-Fi rescued the canceled FOX series, but they could not afford making new episodes.

Wal-Mart has the "V" the original mini-series, "V- The Final Battle," and the TV series for $10.00 each.

I remember Faye Grant who played Julie Parrish the resistance leader in the original tv series. She was my main reason for watching it !
