"Never Back Down"
« on: November 20, 2009, 03:27:25 PM »

I just watched this movie, and it's pretty much like "The Karate Kid" for the UFC generation.  Not a great movie, but fun to watch.

This is a terrible movie, but I have to admit that I also enjoyed watching it.

Kentbob, wasn't it uncanny of the resemblance of the actor playing the lead role to Tom Cruise?  Really weird, at certain points of the film - at certain camera angles - it could have been Cruise.  The strange thing was about half way through the film he started to mimic John Travolta.

Actually, I didn't think that at all.  The set of his jaw is pretty similar, though, although I think he outmasses Tom Cruise by at least 10 kilos!  I enjoyed it too.  It's super predictable, but fun to watch anyway.  I think the main character's little brother was probably the best part.

Borrowed it from someone and didn't like it. Gives the wrong message and puts the MMA in a bad light with the perception that every one of them go out looking for fights. We should just leave MMA out of the movies and keep it in the ring. Or make a better story similar to the Rocky movies. Just my opinion and thoughts on it. No pun intended.

Karate Kid is still better.

Much better message to send to kids & people in general.
