That is a Great eval on operational tactics,a quick guide, nice job done by these men.

Marines have been training in urban warfare since the  70s,so these tactics are well worked.

The problem is that the enemy has not been softened to the extent needed before putting Ground troops in to mop up.

We are operating on a save as many  people as possible, but this is not the answer.

The answer was to be Shock and Awe,which was to be worse than what we had done in Gulf War I,shock and awe never occured,we went to surgical strikes rather than weaken the enemies will.

We went in to get to Baghdad as fast as possible, many of the enemy were allowed to walk off the field of battle rather than be killed or taken prisoner.

I knew this was going to be a shoot and scoot,(as did many others),hit and run conflict using sniping and IEDs, only a fool would try a stand up,toe to toe war.

Why waste your men when you can operate as Guerillas?
(more casualties to the coalition, less loss to your side)

These poor Marines made an attack into Fallujah and the body count was getting to high,on both sides,so the administration pulled the troops back and allowed the so called innocents to leave, this also allowed the insurgents to dig in and prepare.

We waited  and then sent the troops back in,rather than use air and arty to weaken the enemy.
(Marines do not like to pay for the same real estate in Blood twice)

I like the use of improvised munitions to deal with those dug in rather than wasting men clearing a house

I am rambling on ,sorry.

Again this is a great evaluation and a Nice quick guide.
