Book of Eli. Its got a survivalist theme, and the fighting has Inosanto influence(apparently Denzel spent some months working with Dan prior).

And has Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" started yet?
I thought that was suppossed to be Christmas? Jeez was it Thanksgiving and passed away already?

It is about the most depressing book every written, turned into a very depressing sounding movie.

More Armageddon.

The movie (The Road) was in theatres, it did not have a huge ad campaign, and yes it was very depressing...

Finally saw it.

Liked it. Liked its premise. I guess by now everyone knows he's a toten' the bible in his head, all through the end of the world , Ohhh-poco-liptical, them-there, end days. With the patience of Job all the way.

So, it has future western look with bar room action and your regular Mad Max shenanigans in it. But, its message did haunt me well after seeing the movie. Denzel is just great, I think, in everything he does.

Note: When the second in command bad guy was admiring Eli's machete will in the armored car, did you all note that he whistled a short spaghetti western tune?

Yes...I did notice that.

And in a personal note, I managed to acquire a knife like that, albeit somewhat smaller.  It has a good balance, me likey.
