I was just thinking, I bet that there is more firepower in my City of 300,000 then all of the UK, excluding military vehicles and heavy armor.  I would include only citizens, not our police force or the varied gunstores, Academy sports and good old Walmart. I would even go as far as to say there maybe more firepower in my neighborhood then all the local UK police forces put together, or is there just one ??
Maybe  we are gun happy. But we are Happy.
Now if we include the entire state of Texas, we may have more privately owned fire power then all of Europe. WoW. Can some of you tech ,googler, info, stat junkies do a search on this. That's a lot of damn guns.

So are you. Please give your phobia to the nearest lunatic asylum and better yet, put yourself in a strait jacket in a padded room. Again, referring to Brian S, not anyone here.

Ah- dont forget the good old state of tn..- it apears that the gift for every red blooded american child born here is a start up of a 22- then as time progresses gifts are showered on them in various calibers -great place i love it-
i think our gun carry laws are more liberal than texas-
what ever-between texas and tn we have more wpns than the EU- and i am glad we think like this-NRA only way to go-WW (ELB) "speed of light"

I think your concealed carry laws in Tennesse are a heck of a lot better than Virginia. And it don't apply to some parts of VA that are part of DC. Certain improvements that Virginia needs to improve on are the ban against lawful concealed carry in religious places of workship (plans on modifying the carry ban in places that serve alcohol are underway but this one is often overlooked) as well as allowing concealed carry in college campuses, which can deter shooting rampages from happening like in VA Tech. Speaking of the NRA, I am now a member since it is free for all active duty military members (I am in the US Navy w/ 15 yrs. of service) and had also been a member of the more ultra aggressive Gun Owners of America. No matter what the differences between the 2 gun groups, all we got is each other and we gotta unite to fight this war to keep our rights to own guns. I am definitely with you on that.

He's ranting.

It's medication time.  Please give your gun to the nice man in the white coat.

Brian please....get some perspective, like the bigger picture.

(hold your cursor still or you will scroll over the UK, its really small in the bigger picture!)

Oh, UK is located in a "safe zone", so you won't be needing your guns.  But the other 80% of the world...its a bigger picture, the US would fall into the yellow like Mexico without it.  Bigger ocean than your "small little safe pond" my friend.

Of course we're safer in the UK.  That's what I've been telling you.  You are less safe in the USA.  That's what I've been telling you.......

Isn't it ironic how so many of you argue against me by bringing evidence for me to the table?

Really? Maybe where you live. There are some parts if the UK that aren't so safe. And, London is starting to grow and look like NYC too. My area in Richmond as well as the area in VA beach where my parents live are safe too but there is always a gun readily available just in case. It is better to have gun and not need it than the other way around. It's just the mentality of most defense minded gun owners here in the US. You may disagree with that mentality but that is the way it is here. All you can do is accept it just like we accept your culture as is.

Just like the US, depends on what area in any UK city you are from. Again, we can never be too safe or lower our level of awareness. Only time I am in condition white is at home once it got secured, swept, and cleared.

Ever heard of Jeff Cooper and his color codes? If not, you will never understand. Paranoia and awareness are 2 different things. And, this is not my idea. What good is your training if you don't maintain some level of awareness? And no one is invincible. The only thing anyone can do is to mitigate the risks of an attack. And to do so is to be relaxed, yet observant of your surroundings. That can mean the difference between surviving or ending up in the hospital or the morgue. As a matter of fact, there are some DVDs that Hock makes that stresses awareness too.  And if you still don't understand where I am coming from, I don't know what will. We can't change how we think. All we can do is accept each other without labeling each other. Labeling me as paranoid just isn't necessary. Maybe it might be considered extreme to your culture. But it is normal to defense minded people in the US or some parts of the world.

Like I said, paranoid.

The vast majority of people go through all their lives without ever being attacked.  You wandering around in "Code Yellow!" is rather silly.

What next?  Sleeping whilst leaning on your Samurai sword so that you'll be ready if an intruder comes in?

Why not hire Kato?  He can jump out of the fridge at you and test your skills......
