MANY minutes of verbal and physical posturing.
Encounter over in a couple of seconds.

Old man shows how to FLIP THE SWITCH to action.

Predator thought he had easy Prey.
(WRONG)
Prey becomes Predator.

Nice clip.

yeah, Camden was pretty bad, I didn't know how bad it was until I left
I would tell people stories about Camden when I went to college
and people would look at me like I was crazy
evidently what is normal for some is not normal for others

honestly, I would not change a thing
I learned a lot growing up in Camden

Bryant and I were driving once years ago and we got a little turned around and lost and found ourselves in the bad parts of Camden. (are there good parts?)

I think he was actually trying to test my kung fu skills...

excuse me? did i hear somebody say ''what a nice old man''
are you kidding me?

the guy was asking the (black) dude how much he would charge him to spitshine his shoes. where i come from thats not considered a nice thing to say.

the dude was a punk though full of posing, bravado and bs and his skirt sure did got lifted.
I wouldnt get drawn in a nonsense interaction like that.
But that doesnt take away that the old man was making racist remarks and was instigating.

I have seen interviews with the Old man, some on Youtube
He says what the conversation was with his friend on the bus before the young guy overheard a portion and started running his mouth.
Tom,the Old man was talking to his friend about a suit, shirt, tie and shoes he needed to go to his Mothers funeral.
He said he had some shoes that needed to be shined and was going to have his BRO,shine them.
The Young guy heard that portion and inserted himself into the conversation about why a BRO would have to shine his shoes and then we come on to the where the video starts, and the Old Man says  why do you assume I am a racist, when Bro can be anybody, and we go from there.

The Old Man,Tom, also got up and moved away.
The Young Guy,egged on by Jack offs, persued him and got what he deserved, his butt handed to him.

There is a Guy who has the Old Man and the Young Guy both agreeing to fight  a rematch for Cash.
Supposedly it will happen in a month or so.

Probably will not be as good as the realistic application of flipping the switch as seen in the Bus clip.

oh dont get me wrong  the black dude was a fool, that was never up for discussion.

i dont know, i still have a feeling the old mans intentions werent completely genuine , i might be wrong, in that same clip hes being filmed outside the bus and the old man is  running around outside screaming acting like a complete lunatic. i also read somewhere the old man had a history of these kind of things but i never checked it out.
guess we'l never know for sure.

whats this flipping the switch you talk about? is that the thing where he goes from zero to a hundred in a split second?

Quote Mesmeriser

"whats this flipping the switch you talk about? is that the thing where he goes from zero to a hundred in a split second?"

Yes the ability to go from zero to one hundred in a split second, deliver violence of action ,while being in control.

The Old man in the Bus clip is No Angel.
He is apparently easy to find on the street.

He said the day he was on the bus ,he and his friend were going to get Medical Marijuana ,which he says he gets because he is  a senior citizen and it helps aches and pains.
He also introduces the guy who is trying to arrange the televised fight between he and the young guy ,to a friend who has gold teeth. The old man said he knocked this guys teeth out over some cocaine and they became friends.
He says he shot some one,but never got charged .
He said he did time in prison,14 years, for selling drugs when he came back from Vietnam.
He also said he used to fight for money.

How much is true who knows,he seems like he is a bit of an EDP,(Emotionally Disturbed Person)

Now he said he meets about 100 people a day who want autographs, pictures and interviews.
The Local police drive him where he needs to go and they buy him food and coffee.
So he says.

He is No Angel and probably Not a Nice Old Man.
He did get up and move from the Mouthy Young Guy,was then persued by the young guy to the front of the bus, swung at and he reacted in self defense.

Still a good clip in that it shows:
Dialogue leading to escalation
How moving and avoiding in certain instances is not enough
Posturing and more verbal dialogue before the initial sucker type strike
The reaction and response
The use of overwhelming violence to terminate the situation.

Still not a surprise attack as both parties participated in the verbal escalation ,the physial Posturing and on to the conflict stage.
All slow to simmer  and slow to build up to the actual contact point.

yup agree with you there man,

only thing i dont agree with is that its a good example of moving away not being enough, because there are verbal ways to give a guy a way out(saving face) without coming across as very weak (in my experience if you appear to weak people will attack no matter what)
and then moving away.
instead this guy moved away while screaming things like il fuck your candy ass up(while ago not sure what he was saying) thats hardly deescalating in my book.
thats like saying ''i dont want any problems im sorry'' while poking him in the belly with a stick.. ya know

but yeah never the less a good learning experience
