Halleck Technique of the Month Films

February, 2010

http://www.nsama.com/tech.htm

Though there is a stick move here, the other two films are unarmed.

Glad to see the technics -but i do have one comment-
concerning the left spiral punch-dont think that is a very good punch to teach a student who is studying boxing self defense as the spiral gets closer to the target it loses both speed and more so power-
what i have recently been shown by a pro boxer is the left jab and then jab again but keep it out there and come over it with right cross to head-used by pro fighters and works. Then pause and right kick with shin or right hammer fist to opponents right side of neck . But-i am thinking self defense-not in the ring. JMHO guys.

That Jab to Jao Sao combination works better with an open hand.  Another similar combo is firing a back hammer fist, your opponent parries, follow his energy back around with the Jao Sao.  Same principle and both work great in a variety of contexts.

Filipino Panatukan applies the hammer fist into their curriculum very successfully.

And once again, the problem arises of anyone showing any kind of film clip. No matter what anyone does, its always out of context and open to question on every little teeny aspect. Many people wind up explaining themselves to the vast viewers.

We have talked and talked about this, and this is why I never do any Youtube stuff, etc. This is just me though and my twisted opinion...you understand. You do waht you want.

Halleck's group (and of course, Inosanto, Faye and Balicki, etc) exist in a P.H.D. world of fighting, arts and techniques. They are encyclopedias of diverse knowledge. It is very hard to take just ONE TINY THING and show it in a little clip, and a viewer understand the message.
