They ALL died... That's CQC not UFC.  I noticed on one egagement one fighter actually stepped BETWEEN the two opponents - very different from wearing spandex and fighting one on one...

grlaun-that appears to show that the ufc training is to win with a ref there to watch over both fighters-in this case no ref no time limit no corner men -and  no previous cqc training- loved it- WW

Loved it!  I gotta hand it to the Marines, they definitely adapt to the times a lot quicker than the Army does.  Looks fun, when can I go?

Kent- i would venture if you review the vidio and get the correct name of the school in quantico and wrote a letter discribing your background yu may be able to attend some type class-or-contact the 2nd mar div g-3 at lejeune and see if you can attend training
i would venture to say that there are visitors from everywhere
at the same time remember that the vidio made was very professional (marine propaganda )- and the marines probably all were instructors- in the field you would get personnel that moved up the belt ladder and may not be as experienced-in any event good luck-

As a side note as i teach I review all i can from Mcmap and add some tactics for professional men/women-that plus learning from other cqc instructors helps me stay up to date-

Lately i have been working with and getting boxing instruction from a pro who was a sparring partner for julian jackson-who was a hell of a hitter-i have been getting tips on punching that i combign for use of palm strikes by smaller men/women taking a self defense course and not going in the ring.

guess i got off the subject a little-sorry- take care WW

Yeah, I could do a transfer to the USMC-Reserves.  I would have to go through Marine boot.  No problem.  After three combat tours, what's 13+ weeks of boot?  The sticking point from my point of view is that the Marines want me to get down to 205 before they'll accept me, no matter what I score on the PT test.  That's a LONG time without beer and pizza, let me tell you....there's a quality of life I'm willing to accept, and I just don't think that's it.   ;)

Parts Two and Three have since been posted for this series:

PART TWO:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4hcmMn6HNM

PART THREE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e5N1WGYXfM

INFO:
On a recent trip to the Martial Arts Center of Excellence (MACE) at Marine Corps Base Quantico, UFC fighters Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Gabriel Gonzaga, Marcus Davis, and former Marine Brian Stann, along with UFC president Dana White, experienced some of the Marine Corps' rigorous martial arts training.

These elite cage fighters learned that the physical and mental demands required of elite war fighters are only met by those dedicated enough to become part of the Few and the Proud.

Hmmm, there are a couple of the UFC and Marine series. This should be the actual continuation of the series from the first post in this thread:

UFC Fighters Take On Marine Corps Obstacle Course
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj9wpZaTtyM

In part 2 of this 3-part series, UFC fighters Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Gabriel Gonzaga, Marcus Davis, and former Marine Brian Stann continue their visit to Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Pausing for a moment to reflect at Manion Hall, a building named in memory of one of Stann's close friends, 1stLt Travis Manion, they moved on to the Marine Corps Obstacle Course. After struggling through the physical and mental challenge of this demanding experience, the fighters listened with rapt attention as a Marine instructor told a story illustrating how the Corps instills character in its elite warriors.

UFC Fighters Visit Marine Corps Museum
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nzDJurzNXI

At the conclusion of this three-part series, UFC fighters Gabriel Gonzaga, Marcus Davis, Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, former Marine Brian Stann, and UFC founder Dana White visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

While the physical demands of Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training certainly took its toll, a trip to the museum may have provided the UFC fighters with the most valuable and lasting lessons.

I have been told that more changes are comming for the Army combatatives system to include handcuffing -and other tactics-also-the Army is putting out a directive that eventually all members of the Army will get training in Army combatatives- it will take a long time but this will help the Service.  I am glad to see that they are changing towards more of a combat style than rolling on the mat-Level 1,2, and 3 is completed to get a soldier to get aggressive -then they go into more combat tactics-they are going to move up to the lower levels the new tactics-
One of my students today is a helo pilot in the Army-
She just returmed from Afganistan and so far she never has had any army combatatives training-so she really enjoyed my cqc  class-
