Gun training in NJ
« on: April 16, 2010, 04:04:55 PM »

Can anyone comment on the following...
1. How difficult is it to get a gun permit in NJ
2. Are there any decent training facilities in the Philly/southern NJ area where a civilian can get decent firearms training

Evening-i had a gun carry permit in NJ when i escorted nurses into Newark and jersey city-i had to go to elizabeth and after getting the paper work go in front of a judge-he grilled me and was not going to give it to me- he said post men go in same areas i do- i asked to speak and said sir they do not escort nurses carrying drugs and walk up 8-9 flights in the high rises-(because the kids would shut the eleveaor down and throw lighted matches from the top of the eleveator inside or worse)-he said ok and i got it=only took it out once when my life was in danger in elizabeth under the jersey turnpyke-
go to local police and start paper wok there=good luck-make sure you have  references
that have pull-jersey is not tennessee where just about every person without a record carries-stay  safe WW

NJ has certain laws that ban the possession of certain firearms like AKs and magazines that hold more than 15 rounds.

You need a permit to get a longarm and a different one for a handgun.

You can get a permit to own a handgun and keep it in your house and take it shooting but it is very hard to get a permit to carry one.

You might try here to get more information:

NJ gun laws suck.  Move somewhere else.
'Advanced' is being able to do the basics, despite what else is happening.
