Martial Arts version of (Netflix) or online rental.

For those who own schools and would like to watch videos and update some material.

check out www.mmavideo.com

they are running it exactly like netflix and indeed the price is right!

Hock or any instructor could easily get there videos up there! You could be rented too!

They indeed get titles each week and are expanding rapidly. I have tried others but no one as good as this!
They just need to update there selections.

Hopefully they get some more titles. I just don't see enough for me to shell out the $20 per month...for more than a few months, anyway. I don't really see a lot of training videos I care to see either. Maybe the Chin Na, because everyone around here talks about it...but other than that :-\

And besides...I only need to watch a few MMA fights before my insomnia is cured anyway. Nothing like a relaxing evening of watching two guys hug each other. ;D

O.K. I checked that one out. While this guy has lots of titles...the rules are dumb.

You pay a lump sum up front.
You also pay shipping and handling.
And you only have 7 days to view the dvds.

Perfectly legal but no royalties to the producer of the video.

Guess one could see this either as good exposure that might generate sales :) or,
the rental company profitting from someone else's labor and diminishing the artist's sales. >:(
Why buy a cow when the milk is cheap (and delivered postpaid).

Gotta admit I loan and borrow tapes but I don't burn copies and I ask my buddies not to copy the ones I loan to them.
I'm trying to think of stuff I've bought after seeing a borrowed tape. Maybe a few. I have bought a second copy of some good stuff after it didn't get returned. There's some sales.

Things to consider.
But I'm a square. I pay for my music downloads, too.

Yup. Rentals prevent new sales.
No sales? Artist gets other full time job.
Eventually has to quit teaching.
Systems die.
Soon no new videos are made. (No artists. No systems)
Then video rental company dies.
Earth becomes a boring and sour place.

Evil rental companies. Evil!
