Brazil police claim victory in drugs 'war'

Armed police in Rio de Janeiro claimed on Sunday to have defeated drugs gangs of up to 600 men who waged a week-long campaign of violence that threatened the city's image as a suitable venue for the Olympic Games.

The war against drug's is a war that can't be won. To much money, power and control in the hand's of drug supplier's and drug dealers around the world. Drugs have never been as cheap as they are now or as available as they are now. It's a dreadful situation but that's how it is. As for the guy's and girl's enforcing the laws and fighting the power of the drug's baron's. Hat's off to them, it's extremely dangerous work whereever it takes place.

Judging buy the amount of Brazilian's in everywhere in the world apart from Brazil, I think it's safe to say that it's a long way to go before there's stability there.
