« on: December 31, 2010, 12:33:35 PM »

Found this on youtube:

Inosanto is in a police training video. Hock maybe we could add this to your 21 foot rule discussion.

That comes from the old Caliber Press 16 mm film, video and now DVD

http://www.amazon.com/Surviving-Edged-Weapons-Intended-Enforcement/dp/B0012H8DEA

Dan helped out for those clips. Vert few knew of him then. i didn't. Like early 1980s. Years ago it was for LEOs only. I am surprised to see it still around. It is REALLY dated, like the old 1970s, 16mm police training films we had.

It is worth seeing as I recall.

The moral of the story even way back was you have to learn some unarmed combatives and pick your best moment to draw your gun. Many guys were cut while busy drawing and not defending. That was decades ago and we still have ignorant A-Holes running around thinking their gun is the only answer -  "If I could just go to that next shooting school and learn to draw faster and faster."

The section on concealed weapons and footage of prisoners training to attack LEO's is also excellent on that particular film. You see Leo Gage jr. several times and a very young looking Paul Vunak in one very brief scene. They did another one on gun's at the same time. Very simlar style of footage.

Long time ago-1994- I attended a  program in Atlantic city given by the atlantic city police department and Caliber  press where they offered  the film -there must have been 100 police and security in attendance-the seminar was called the tactical edge-- they all were awed at the information in the seminar. Among the instructors were a Mr David Grossi and a Mr Rober Willis-they gave a good program.

Was that the film that showed knife hideaways and draws used by bad guys in traffic stops?
