Ads?

Boy, on the average they all seem to be lousy.

It depends  though, one year for one month-Black Belt. Next year, Combat Handguns. We have ads running about ten maga at any time (even the Journal of American Medicine!) and sometimes we can't get the information to find out one came from where.

The best help has come from Budo articles I've written, translated to 5 (6?) languages around the world.

Its a Las Vagas gamble!

It's been said that 50% of advertising dollars are wasted.
The problem is which 50 %

As the guy who does my flyers said:
"They're looking at the ad as they are walking to the trash.."

VERY depressing especially when you see you money literally being thrown away.

HOWEVER, the other key to the tactic is be in everyone's face as much as possible.  Look at McDs.  Theres one on every corner but they still advertise on all levels.  Why?  Because when you get the hankerin' for a some good old grease,  theor dollar is that you buy a McD Big Greaser.

I also learned a good lesson from a friend of mine who had a degree in marketing (to which degree he was a marketer, I don't know...)  But his idea was that people need to know where you are.  Even if they DO throw your stuff out.  Your money goes to getting your name out not just by word of mouth (which is preferred but erratic and VERY slow).  Be prepared to spendf the money to be seen.  ITS GOOD TO BE SEEN!

My suggestion is to have Paris Hilton, almost naked, eating a hamburger in the rain, in front of your school for an ad...

What was trash becomes a poster...
