Good prank! Great way to start my day; got a good laugh out of watching that.

I didn't notice any "SPEAR" type reaction from anyone, but I did notice some immediate defensive posturing and instinctive grabbing from many of the folks startled.

It was also good to see that everyone took the prank well; nothing wrong with mixing in some fun with your training. Unfortunately, he'll never be able to get anyone to help him move "Bubba" again. It's going to be a while before he'll be able to pull another prank on them!

Good stuff!

Funny!
One MAIN response in studies is that people almost always go backward, or away from the surprise.

Must be because they have the startle/flinch trained out of them. ;D

Sometimes the hands went down, sometimes they pushed away and sometimes the person pulled them into their bodies, but like Dawg said, no obvious SPEAR type reaction.

Another interesting thing, that may just be my imagination, but except for Ryron and Rorion Gracie, few responded with a response based on their training.

Good to see some BJJ guys with a sense of humor.  One gets the impression through the internet that they all have a stick up their hind end.

I liked how a lot of people cocked back for a punch.  On the other hand, one can say they didn't respond with their training, but they did respond with evasions when the "dummy" tried to clinch.

Looks like Rorion responded with training.

Yesterday when i got home I opened the front door and I guess the pressure change of opening the door, moved the air and caused some dishes that I had left to dry to move and slip.

My instant response to the noise of the movement was to step into a fight stance. Left hand open above waist hight and right fist closed ready for action (this was odd to me as im an open hand fight kinda guy). Right foot went back and my kness bent and i was moving out of the fatal funnel away from the percieved threat before it registered in the brain.

No SPEAR for me. But i had a bit of a giggle when my brain signalled for the all clear. No flinch and no freeze either just a focus on the direction of the noise.

Conditioned response.

But what impresses me most is your utility bill. It must be small with such a tight seal!

Been off awhile as computer modum went down-anyhow-very funny-  ;D but at the same time-i did not see one "helper" immediately go from passive to offensive posture and strike/knee/kick etc-all moved back-one turned back to Bubba-no angle block using arms (blockin clock drills)-hope i am not beng critical of this as i know it was a joke-
but-train in the gym as you would act in the street. Go from passive to attack back-continuous combat needed.

Keep it up.
Keep settling your government economy with such hardline policies...
And I may have to immigrate north to Canada.

The amount of British people I know who have set up in Canada in the last 10yrs or so is simply amazing. They have gone to raise there kids and find work and hopefully live in a less crime wracked area. I don't know of any who have come back. All seem happy and are doing well.
