Hocks training methods
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:58:17 PM »

I thought I would pass this on-over the years I have used Hocks clock method to train new students who have not been exposed to unarmed self defense techiniques -i have had the privlige of training a family consisting of the Mom Dad and 4 sons (whose age runs from around 9 to 15) they are home schooled and really do  not have too much close contact with
the other kids in the street-we started out teaching blocking to the clock and also going into a defensive fighting stance right away.
Two weeks ago while outside the home the kids were apporoached by a adult who stopped and got out of his car. They did not know him and all got into a defenisve stance with hands up.The stranger retreated and left. The Mom and Dad are greatful. (He could have been crazy or a possible threat of some type.)-
We continue to practise blocking and stances- Thanks Hock......WW

As I continue to meet various people who come to train because of past
episodes where they came up against "Evil" the latest is a wife who was attacked at gun point (she survived) but this is living with her.
She took lessons from me for awhile and stopped-last week she returned and is fighting through the trama she experinced. She is now striking with fury and i am proud of her. As martial artist instructors i feel we must offer reality based instruction and when we have a student who we see has some type of problem there might be a underlying reason-we are not doctors but our experience will help them survive...WW
