So, what is the deal with Jerry Beasley?

No
(Though Joe Lewis has authorized Beasley to teach Joe Lewis Version of JKD. Joe Lewis is not a JKD Instructor)

Jerry Beasley (not a Facebook friend) suddenly appeared at the tail end of some comments on a seminar photo of mine on facebook, in which some attendees of the seminar made some short comments on. And this dissertation that follows began. Topics included:
a) the old story form years ago, before the internet, when Beasley was in Tae Kwon Do and some guy sent him a false bio and fake name (his dog) and told everyone that Beasley took a fee and issued a Black Belt certificate in the dog's name. Beasley calls this an old wives's take and untrue.
b) his issuance of a 5th dan, Black Belt in Israeli Martial Arts to Moshe Katz, and Beasley having zero Israeli linage or authority to do so.
That was discussed.

Beasley says -
"I heard a similar story in the 80s from a guy in FL, but he claimed I sold a black belt in taekwondo to his dog. Sounds like the same myth just updated. LOL. I don't sell,black belt rank, never did. The only dans I have personally made earned the rank. Rank should be an honor, not an expense."
I ask back-
"Heres a question though. If someone submits paperwork to you, and through all these years too, how do you know they are a real person? And in the case of that post you mentioned, how do you rank Katz as as a high dan in Krav Maga?"

Beasly Answer:
"Since I do not need to charge money for dan ranks I can be very deliberate and I am. Moshe Katz was promoted to the rank of 5th dan in Isralie martial arts. I do not promote krav maga. I have known and worked with Moshe for perhaps 10+ years. He has built a strong organization on integrity. No all 'masters' demonstrate with mass force. Dan Inosanto comes to mind."
My next question:
"But, whether Krav Maga or Israeli Martial arts? What authority do you have to represent Israeli MA to make him a 5th Dan?"
