This just goes to show, if discretion is the better part of valor, the other part must be foolishness.  What an incredibly foolish but valorous thing to do.  Good for him.  The world needs the right kind of fools.

The guard didn't have much luck using , i believe it was a chair?, as a sheild. The guy just bull rushed through that. I don't think backpedaling straight back while being charged gives you many options in any fight. I always thought the defining mark of a well trained fighter is that they move to get angles and  close to inflict damage.
