Title: Optics in combat
Post by: ee4uandme on July 30, 2007, 11:29:25 AM
How do you keep  the red dot and other optical sights clean in a combat zone? Do they have tear off coves like motocross gogles? Do you replace a lot of lenses? Top secret calssified plastic that doesn't scratch? Combat shoot by looking over the sights?

I was exploring the "cool" spec ops website hock posted and noticed the Force Recon Marine's rifle was covered in dirt/mud. Posting the question that came to my mind. I had a standard M16A2 when I was in the USMC, a long time ago, and I had iron sights that could be quickly and non-delicatly cleaned.
