Hey Marc, I ordered the 1st DVD in the Panantukan series and I really enjoyed it. I love this fighting style. It appears to me that the Keysi fighting method guys actually do Panantukan. I am interested in long distance training eventually. I was actually thinking about coming to Libertyville, IL seminar on June 4, 5, 6, and 7. Would I be able to only train in Panantukan if I attended this seminar? Thanks for your time

I can tell you that, that June seminar will be a big mix of Filipino, Archipelago, Silat, hand, stick, knife, double sticks, stick and knife, that both Marc and I will be doing.

If you want just the the Pan Silat you'd better put that money into seeing just Marc alone some other time.

Marc,
Distance training is something I'd be very interested in. I've trained the first three levels to the point that I feel I could efficiently use those skills in a fight, and to the point where I could teach them to a newcomer. My main training partner and I are working on levels four and five right now, I love the progression, everything builds on the first three and it blends easily with some of the other combatives i train (Balintawak, Jim Grover's stuff). It would be nice to get feedback on where we're at, I've always put knowledge above rank in my training goals, but I feel like this is a system worth getting rank in, maybe one day teaching to a small group.
Most of my time and money goes towards indie film, for the near future it's not really possible for me to fly out to Chicago for training/rank, let me know how you'd prefer to go about setting the distance training up, fees and all that.

Dear Ashblaster,
Marc checks in every three days here, so lets get the ball rolling when he does...
Where do you live? I might be able to alert and ship more area students to such an event.

I live in Victoria, BC. Marc mentioned video testing in another thread, does anyone know if he's thought any more about this?

Hey Guys
I do video testing for a few students, i would do it for you as well, you send me the tape with you and your partner performing all the material, with diffrent angles so i can see,
A's and B's you pass, c's you fix, i am a little stricter on video testers than in person,
I charge 75 per level. let me know what you think, would love to come out for a seminar

Also just a side note, Guro Inosanto just promoted me to associate instructor, this is a big deal for me, next level full instructor!!!

What an honor.  Congrats, Guro Halleck!  Look forward to training with you sometime, perhaps at the PAC next June.

Congrats on your promotion, I am sure it's well deserved. I'll start working on putting some tapes together for you.

Just a thought on pan-silat:  This stuff is new to me within the past year or so, and I must say, it's really cool and seems quite effective.  I look forward to improving in these skills through Marc's videos and hopefully the PAC camp next summer.

Nice freakin' work!!!
