LOTS of good stuff on it... I get killed a lot as well.  That in itself is worth the DVD.

Wow! :o

I should've paid for overnight shipping! Having a cold beer while watching Rawhide get totally used and abused...THAT'S freakin' entertainment! Should be here for the weekend.

I went to the Military Knife Fighting seminar Hock did at Rawhide's school, maybe 5-6 (?) years ago. Good stuff. Just ordered the DVD set to refresh some of the material.

I remember that fondly.  Arnold beat me every chance he got.  I remember a lot of the information from that weekend too.  I'll probably get this once I ship out and get an address.

I finally got around to ordering it. Can't wait to see it!

Oh, and Rawhide, when you're killed by Hock, do you immediately wake up in bed that same morning ala Groundhog day, or do you re-spawn somewhere else like in Halo?

It's a good video set.

The first two techniques on Disc 2 work from a position that many martial artists think is safe, once they get the knife hand trapped between their upper arm and their torso.  I've seen people teach getting in to that position, and I've never seen that simple counter before.

For a hardware question, what would be the minimum sized blade for using the techniques (especially the stabs to the brain) on the video?  For someone not carrying a full-sized dagger for concealment reasons, would something like a Gerber Guardian Backup or small Cold Steel Counter Tac be big enough?  I'm thinking of something more concealable than something like an A-F Bootknife or Gerber MK I.

Ben, you might really like "In the Clutches Of" that Rawhide and I did...oohh,  5 years ago. 6? We won't remake it because it is rather perfect as it is. I just show a few variations of things in seminars.

(maybe you've already seen it)

A 3-inch bladed knife can make a 4-inch plus stab! Depends on where the stab is, of course. I was at a police intelligence meeting at a forsenic building two weeks ago and a knife murder was being reviewed for discussion (a cold case meeting) The detective boldly made the statement that the murder weapon had to be a 4-inch knife. BUT...a much lessor length knife, driven in with power in many body location where the surface gives in, like the belly for example, allows the knife to make a deeper wound.  So, even some police investigators still don't know this.

I have to call this DVD "Military" Quick Kills because I don't want to be run out of town as a crazed man by a Frankensteinian riot, but many of the moves are for a decent military style, sized knife (or...kitchen knife...ahhh well, I mean a MILITARY kitchen knife that is...yes...)

But as they say...size does matter...

In the clutches of is something I work on a regular basis as I think it is more common that most things in blade work.  I LOVE that series.  I was awed the first time I ever saw it and it has always been one of my main fouceses in my own training.  The DVD is rather perfect as well...

Mr. Walker, still got your video "Death in the Shadows", Techniques of Sentry Killing. I supplement that with my FMA training and Hocks knife combatives.
