Very interesting extension of the "get off the X" argument.

I really like Spaulding. Always enjoy reading his stuff and his book is quite comprehensive...even though...

Just today we were doing stress quick draws with sims. This one step to the side does not get you off the X enough. The opponents can still very, VERY easily shoot you. These guys never run the old theories with sims in experiments. Curiously enough we had a number of new people today who are not gun guys or shooters and even these novices easily tracked and shot people moving with this one conservative side-step when drawing.

Experiment first - then write the article (but many of the old timers do not like simulated ammo experiments)
