Title: holsters
Post by: whitewolf on December 03, 2012, 09:49:43 PM
I  just got  my carry permit and a  LC9 Ruger 9mm-question  for the
experienced here. I purchased a holster that is  canted for  my  hip-so   when i drive the seat belt  will not get in the way.  am  concerned because there is no strap to   hold weapon in-should  i look for some other type or am i too worried.? We  have open carry  here in Tn but  will always wear a shirt so that i  do  not advertise. WW

I don't have a strap either.  I don't like it.  Unless I'm doing a lot of running, shucking, juking and jiving, I don't see the need for a strap in order to retain most of my weapons in the sheath.  I think it just slows down deployment, overall.

If the holster is molded for the weapon, you shouldn't have any issues. Don't know the type of holset you purchased, so I can't really give any more input.
I have used Alessi Leather holsters exclusively for the last 30 years. They are exceptional and worth every penny

Arnold  thanks- I  went to the local gun store where I know the owner- we went through a variety of holsters and found a holster  made by Tagua in Paraguay-it is a canted  holster that you thread  the belt through it goes  on  your  hip. When the wpn  is in  it and you have the belt tightened the wpn  stays even  when you  move  around. When i  am  driving the seat  belt does  not interfer with me being able to draw   it. Appreciate the input-(hope you are doing well)-WW (Richie)
