Knights of Sovereign Peterson SCARS
« on: June 26, 2008, 04:44:27 PM »

You have got to see this: (old really outlandish one taken down  (new revised edition)

Check this load of bollocks from Peterson's site.  How do people fall for this:

The easiest way is if you already know a member of the order of THE KNIGHTS OF SCARS. If you do, ask him about direct sponsorship. He knows all the details.

If you have completed L-2 and you did not receive a direct Sponsored Invitation you may qualify for a Knights Selection Sponsorship. This is only for L-2 Graduates! Please contact us by e-mail at or call toll free within the USA 1-877-468-7530. You will be verified before information can be given.

IF none of the above apply, then the following is your ticket in:
The first requirement for the Sponsorship being offered is you must purchase our videos and/or DVD's packages directly from us, and of course, you must be serious about learning the SCARS system.

The NON - Sponsored Life Membership fee is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). This fee is paid just once up front, assuming you remain a member in good standing. The BASIC yearly dues at this time are Four Thousand Dollars ($4000.00), due the first of every year. However, this does cover all four (4) training events for that year. (Ancillary training the Order elects is not included in the basic dues.) That's only $1,000 per event if you're a member of the Knights of SCARS. That is an outstanding price for training of this caliber and level!

Even a non sponsored membership saves you Sixteen Thousand Dollars per year ($16,000.00.) should you want to come cold without Sponsorship. In order to receive training directly from the Peterson's the standard starting cost per event is $5,000-$10,000, per 3 to 4 days, and that's group rate. If you're worth a few Billion, that's not a lot, after all, what's your life and happiness really worth…Right?!

But This Is NOT YOU because you're going To Take the Steps to Get Sponsored, RIGHT?!

Yeah right Jerry!

"Master Causational Imprints!?"  -sounds a bit like an 'engram'.  L. Ron Hubbard move over! We had better be careful.  If you piss off the Scientologists, they will just sue your ass, but Gerry Peterson is the Grand Chancellor of the Knights of SCARS.  These people are even more dangerous than ninjas, who are known to just flip out and kill people for no reason! ( see

By the way, in 2005, I invited all you to join my "Crusaders of Light" organization, of which I am the Grand Ultimate Lord Supreme General Admiral Captain Commander.  For $5 you can still become a "peon of light" and for $10 plus you kiss my butt, I will teach you everything about everything because I am just that kind of guy.  My organization is infinitely superior to the "Knights of SCARS" and all other similar groups because I don't charge as much, I only require your flattery. :D

Copied from the Knights of Scars website.  I notice that spelling and grammar are not a valued characteristic of the "Sovereign Chancellor".  Seriously, this "Knights of Scars" is a little scary.  It sounds like a secret society that is some kind of a cross between the Church of Scientology, soldier of fortune and a militia.  They also claim to train in all kinds of stuff not normally necessary for self defence, like rappelling from helocopters, electronic surveillance and skydiving.  Is Jerry Peterson trying to create his own private commando group?  And then making an organization so he can take the title of "Sovereign Chancellor"!  I am surprised this guy can fit in a normal doorway with a head so big.

1. Repelling, (Stationary repel and Helicopter).
2. Become an Expert in combat pistol.
3. Become an Expert in combat rifle.
4. Become an Expert in combat assault tactics.

This is kind of interesting.

I opened up the new SWAT magazine to find an article by knife maker Ernest Emerson of southern CA doing a seminar in Mexico and also announcing his new group The Order of the Black Shamrock.
I only mention it here because it has striking resemblances to the SCARS knight thing. The knight verbiage. And the cut lines for the article sounded a lot like the old SCARs articles where you would read in bold cut lines, about how many injuries occurred during the rough and tough seminar, etc.

Is Ernie ripping off Peterson? It looks like it? Sounds like it?
Is that a good idea?

If Peterson wants to be the P.T. Barnum of combatives training, then so be it. But he still gets credit for his combat service in Viet Nam.

But I'm beyond tired of martial arts types who cloak themselves in warrior-ship, who have never served as an LEO, service-member, correctional officer or close-protection specialist. If you've never had someone try to kill you, then you need to sit quietly until the grown-ups are done speaking.

Post 9-11, we now have thousands of 20 year-olds who know all too well about the realities of life and death combat. Lessons which lay beyond the grasp of self-proclaimed dojo-warrior/combat gurus.

Topics such as these always leave me with these words... "You can't give away what you don't have and you can't take someone where you have never been."

It doesn't seem at the level of nuttiness of Prather's Warriorship program, but then Prather's isn't as nutty as a guy he probably ripped off, Harley Swiftdeer Reagan.

Harley takes the strangest things these other guys do and amplifies them, but since he was doing it since the 1980s he's probably the first.

Well said, Mike.

I clicked on that website, and I didn't get past the heading of "The Warrior" and "Since time immemorial...".  I don't mind warrior philosophy and discussion but...sites like these, and advertisements like these, are an attempt to cash in on the fairytale idea of a "warrior", dashing knight-errant/ronin type that is always victorious because his heart is pure, blah blah blah.  As Mike said, if most of these guys had been face to face with buddies dying, and real war and battle, they would not be so quick to promote the warrior lifestyle.

If I was to do something like this, I'd have people crawling through mud, snow, know, more like the meanest, nastiest basic training you could think of, and less like fantasy ninja camp.

I'm English born there, live there. I've been privileged to have meet and trained with people who have been Knighted. It was an honour to call them Sir. It's not a thing you make up or put together because it looks nice. It's centuries of tradition, history, loyalty and heritage. A few bucks for a T-Shirt with a coat of arms on it is a joke.

Being a real Knight was a thing earned in battle and not paid for. William Marshall was a good example born in 1147 he went from a nobody to one of the greatest Lord's in England. He fought countless times. He was physically strong, very ruthless but always fought tactically. Prisoners meant ransom and he wanted wealth and the power that came with it. Smart, strong, well schooled and lethal. Forget the T-Shirts remember the real example's of the warrior code.

First thing I thought of when reading about Emerson's Order was the social environment that gave rise to the feudal hierarchy (knight and samurai alike), starting with birthright, a life of proper training, non-combat responsibilities like estate/personnel management, and then finally, performance in combat. Seems like when everyone can be a knight, no one is.

The romanticized "trope" of knight and samurai-hood can indeed be a vehicle for conveying a decent set of values and ethics, but it suffers due to its overuse in pop culture and lack of exclusivity.

It's interesting reading some of the German Fechtbuchs, Talhoffer's in particular gives a very good example of what 15th century Germans thought a young noble should be.  Those books, much like some of the treatises on samurai, are also a justification for the continuation of the social order.  Saying, in effect, "these people are on top of the social heap because they embody the virtues X, Y, and Z" and then going on to teach the young noble how to live up to those virtues.

I've been digging into the European martial traditions over the last couple years, I just wish the national organizations were a bit closer to Hock's philosophy than they are.  "Purity of tradition" is nice and all, but you guys have got my head stuck in trying to figure out what practical use to make of the fancy dancing I learn :D
