Nick Hughes' DVDs
« on: December 10, 2008, 10:35:39 PM »

A shout out to all who have Nick's DVDs.  Love the multiple opponent one and am looking to get another.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the one with "grappling" and the one with "ground fighting"?  I'd just like to know what will actually show up in my DVD player.  Also, any recommendations as to which of his DVDs to get--of those two or any others.

Grappling in there is what it use to be...just "stand-up Jujitsu" kind of material.

Ground fighting in there is what it use to be...fighting on the ground once you hit the ground.

It was BJJ and the ignorant masses in the 1990s that clouded these very simple definitions. To many, grappling mostly now means ground fighting, or at least, the takedowns are quick, pass-through means to get every one on the ground to ground fight, where for them...the real fighting begins.

I like his first DVD as a good intro and for good ideas about power development.
I exhort you also to take part in the great combat,  which is the combat of life, and greater than every other earthly combat.
