When all these multiple strike drills are done is the attacker,(the person you are hitting),reacting/moving the way the first strike would really impact him/her ?
In most of the first strikes listed,if done with intent, they would move the head/body in ways that would not really allow the second strike,as decribed, to be pulled off as thought/trained.
Just realize when doing multiple strike drills ,everything after the first blow will most likely not be where you expect them to be,and will make that second strike less likely and the thrid strike even MORE Less Likely to be pulled off.
The Ross three chop sequence:
The first downward edge of hand to the collar bone will,if delivered with intent, cause the person hit to drop down to the side struck, and if the strike was delivered while moving forward with body drop or drop step, the body will also be moving back.(So down and back, making the second chop hard to pull off)
The Jab to the cross:
The Jab if delivered right and with intent will drive the head back and away, the hands will probably come up,the hips will jut out and the jab will be hard to pull off.
The eye strike and cross to jaw:
A straight in finger jab to the eye, whether it actually contacts the eye or not will make the person you hitpull their head back and away,or drive their head back and away if actual eye contact is made,Hands will come up to cover, hips will jut out and the jaw will most likely not be in position for a good cross, most likey the jaw will not be exposed for the strike.
Just food for thought when doing multiple strike drills and expecting to be able to pull full sequences off as trained.
